This is why Telkom customers have another reason to smile after Telkom added more data and call minutes to their combo bundle commonly known as Mzito bundle.
The bundle is available in two options of either 3Gb data +100 all net minutes @ Ksh.499 or 7Gb + 300 all net minutes for Ksh.999.
Due to massive interest that this bundle has generated, Telkom have added a third option as discussed below.
Telkom Mzito bundles.
These are the combo bundles currently offered by Telkom Kenya:
- 3Gb+100 all net minutes and SMS @499.
- 7Gb+300 all net minutes and SMS @999.
- 17Gb+600 all net minutes and SMS @1999.
Unlike the all in one monthly bundles, Mzito bundle doesn't give you the options to choose between data, minutes or SMS. Mzito bundles can be termed as a special kind of the monthly bundles.
How to to subscribe for Telkom mzito bundle.
To buy any of the above bundle plans:
- Dial *544# on your Telkom line.
- Go to option 5 'mzito combo bundles'
- Select your preferred plan.
- Confirm your purchase and your done.
You can subscribe to as many times as you wish, even before the expiry of the existing bundle. All the data and minutes will be accumulated if you buy more than one bundle.
However, in case the bundle expires before you exhaust all the data or minutes, you will have to forfeit all the balance, and even purchasing a new bundle will not add to the expired bundles.
Upon the expiry of the Mzito bundle you will be subjected to the normal Telkom rates of Ksh.4.30 per Mb data and Ksh.3.50 per minute of voice calls.
Every time you purchase any mzito bundle you also earn Ziada Points at a rate of one point per Ksh.1.0 spent.
The success of Telkom Mzito has seen Safaricom launch almost a similar product though slightly expensive known as ' all in one monthly bundle
How much do you save with Mzito bundles?
Most subscription plans have an advantage over normal call and data rates.
Take for instance the first plan which gives you 3Gb of data and 100 on net minutes at Ksh.499. If you were to use Telkom's normal call rate of Ksh.3.50 per minute, then 100 minutes would cost you Ksh.350, meaning you are getting the 3Gb data for only ksh.50
With many smart phone users complaining of fast data drainage, data should now be purchased in therms of GBs and not MBs, and any product that provides such amount of data at reasonable prices is welcomed.Apart from mzito bundle, Telkom have other exiting data plans that you can choose from, including freedom bundles, monthly unlimited and Telkom business plans.
Most of these bundles come with free WhatsApp, though of the three telcos, airtel has the the best free WhatsApp..
As a Telkom Kenya subscriber, I urge the company to improve their 3G coverage in the region, since it is pointless to buy bundles that will be of no use due to poor network coverage.
How to check your bundle balance.
Dial *144# on your Telkom line to check balance.
