Safaricom increases home internet fiber bandwidth making it one of the most competitive home internet in the country.

Safaricom PLC have announced new home internet bandwidth that has seen an increase in it's speeds upto 250% making it's home internet one of the most competitive in the market right now.

Safaricom home has been gaining a good number of subscribers due to it's high reliability and stability, but it's initial pricing had been it's major challenge as compared to other home internet providers in the country.

The new changes also saw slight price increase in the Gold and Diamond packages of Ksh. 300 and Ksh. 500 respectively, but that won't compare to the amount of bandwidth added to the packages.

Here are the old and new Safaricom home internet packages and prices:

1.Bronze.

  • Old 5 Mbps for Ksh.2900.
  • New 8 Mbps- Ksh. 2900.

2.. Silver.

  • Old 10 Mbps for Ksh.3,999 per month.
  • New 20 Mbps - Ksh. 3,999.
  • Fast web browsing.
  • SD movie and music streaming.
  • HD TV programming.
  • Multiple device streaming.
  • Superfast video downloads.
  • CCTV device compatibility.
3. Gold.
  • Old 20 Mbps for Ksh.5,699.
  • New 40 Mbps - Ksh. 5999.
  • Fast web browsing
  • UHD movie and music streaming
  • UHD TV programming
  • Multiple device streaming
  • Superfast video downloads
  • CCTV device compatibility.
4.Diamond.
  • Old 40 Mpbs for Ksh.11,499.
  • New 100 Mbps for Ksh. 11,499.
  • Fast web browsing
  • UHD TV programming
  • Multiple device compatibility
  • Hyperfast video downloads
  • CCTV device compatibility
The new changes makes Safaricom home the best internet connection in the country, becoming cheaper than JTL's home which currently provides 75Mbps for Ksh. 15,000 and 30 Mbps for Ksh. 5,000.
On it's part, Zuku's 10Mbps costs Ksh. 2,499, 20Mbps Ksh. 3999 and Ksh. 4,999 for 60 Mbps.
The new move by Safaricom will likely see other home internet providers also make changes to their home internet packages, and JTL is likely among the first to do so.
